How can I import my CDs into TwonkyMedia manager?
The easiest way to do this is to encode them using iTunes®. Open iTunes and follow these steps:
1. Go to Edit/Preferences to ensure Import using MP3 encoder and ‘Automatically retrieve CD names from Internet’ is set. Click OK.
2. Uncheck all songs on a CD but one.
3. Right click on that song and select ‘Convert song to MP3’.
Find song in library and ensure it has artwork. If it does not, right-click the album art placeholder and select 'Get Album Artwork'. -
How can I import playlists into TwonkyMedia manager?
iTunes playlists should be automatically imported into TwonkyMedia manager. To import other types of playlists, try copying them into the shared content folder for music (e.g., My Music). If the playlist doesn’t appear in a few minutes, you can force a content rescan by clicking on Server Settings and pressing the Rescan Content button.
-
Why can’t I play music purchased from iTunes?
DRM-protected songs, such as music purchased from the Apple music store, are not supported for playback on TwonkyMedia manager.
-
Where can I purchase music that works with TwonkyMedia manager?
Look for websites that sell downloadable MP3 files like Amazon.com®, Walmart®, Napster® or eMusic®. These files have album art, all of the metadata tags entered and they are encoded at high data rates, so they sound great.
-
How can I add album art if it’s missing?
Most music software will let you add album art to music files. Just launch Windows® Media Player, right click on a file and select Find Album Info. It will display a list of matches on the right side of the screen. Click on the one that matches best and press Next. Click the Finish button and you’re done. You can also use Winamp or other software to do this.
If Winamp™ or Windows Media Player fails to find the album art you’re looking for, go to Amazon.com or Wikipedia® and type in the name of the album you’re looking for. Once you locate the album, double-click on the album art and right-click to save it to the folder containing songs for that album. Then rename the image “folder.jpg”. TwonkyMedia manager will display the album art the next time it scans your music folder.
